About This Course
This CLE course is designed for family law attorneys handling custody disputes involving parental substance use. It provides an evidence-based overview of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) and explains how these issues intersect with best-interest standards in custody litigation.
Participants will gain practical insight into how AUD affects parenting capacity, how ACEs impact child development, and how to evaluate and present related evidence in contested proceedings. The program equips attorneys with a clear framework for assessing risk, working with experts, and advocating effectively in cases involving alcohol misuse.
