Accreditation and CLE Rules for Connecticut
National Academy of Continuing Legal Education is an accredited sponsor of CLE across the United States. Attorneys licensed in Connecticut may earn all 12 credit hours through the National Academy of CLE using our Online, DVD and Audio CD formats.
Effective January 1st 2017, Connecticut Attorneys must complete 12 CLE credit hours every year, including 2 hours of ethics. The reporting cycle is from January 1st through December 31st and each member must certify compliance by January 31st.
Newly admitted attorneys have to comply with the CLE requirements in the calendar year following their admission or certification. For example, lawyers admitted in 2017 do not have to take courses for MCLE credit until 2018. They will report that they have completed the hours when they register in 2019.
Connecticut attorneys may carry over up to two credit hours of excess MCLE from the current calendar year to the next calendar year’s total.
