About This Course
Real estate transactions remain a prime target for increasingly sophisticated fraud schemes. This CLE program delivers a practical, up-to-date examination of key risk areas, including mortgage fraud, identity theft and forgery, wire transfer fraud, and emerging cybersecurity threats. Special attention will be given to the growing use of artificial intelligence and deepfake technology in facilitating deed fraud and title theft.
Participants will learn to identify critical red flags at each stage of a transaction and implement effective safeguards to mitigate risk. The program will also explore best practices for client communication, verification protocols, and transaction management in an evolving threat landscape.
In addition, the course will examine the role of title insurance and the title insurance underwriter, including how coverage operates, common claim scenarios, and how practitioners can leverage these protections to better safeguard their clients and transactions.
