About This Course
The legal profession is demanding – and so is the life of a family caregiver. This CLE program will explore the growing reality where the expectations of law practice, family caregiving responsibilities, lawyer well-being, and professional responsibility not only intersect but vigorously compete for priority. Utilizing ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, relevant research, and real-world scenarios, attendees will explore how family caregiving affects professional performance, ethical decision-making and law office management.
Participants also learn how to recognize the physical, emotional, and cognitive risks associated with attorney-caregivers; identify ethical faux pas related to competence, diligence, communication, confidentiality, supervision, and withdrawal; and implement practical risk management strategies that protect clients, preserve professional capacity, and support lawyer well-being.
