HIPAA compliance remains more important than ever as the regulatory landscape continues to evolve at both federal and state levels. In January 2025, the Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) was released with comments due in March 2025. As healthcare industry participants sit on the edge of their seats regarding the changes, there are steps that can be taken before the effective date of an announced Final Rule. Additionally, a Privacy Rule required item will be addressed, as well as select state laws. The purpose of this CLE is to highlight areas of risk, address some of the notable NPRM items, Privacy Rule Notice of Privacy Practice (NPP) update and integrate personal devices that track individually identifiable health information data.
