Humor is often overlooked as a professional skill, yet it can be one of the most effective tools available to lawyers. Drawing on decades of experience representing clients in police and government misconduct litigation, personal injury matters, and criminal defense cases, this program explores how the thoughtful use of humor can strengthen advocacy, build credibility, and foster meaningful professional relationships.

Through real-world examples from the courtroom, negotiations, depositions, client counseling, and interactions with judges, jurors, opposing counsel, and witnesses, attendees will learn how humor can help establish trust, reduce tension, humanize difficult conversations, and create authentic connections. The program will also address the limits of humor, including when it can be ineffective or inappropriate, and how lawyers can use it ethically and professionally.
