Are they listening? Yes, law enforcement is often listening to your client’s communications and using them to mount a prosecution against your client with his own words. Understanding the federal electronic surveillance statute is vital to defending both state, which is frequently tailored after the federal statute, and federal electronic surveillance prosecutions.

This course provides a basic overview of the federal statute and highlights opportunities to attack electronic surveillance evidence. The course key takeaways will aid defense attorneys in understanding the depth of the evidence they are confronted with in electronic surveillance cases, analyzing the discovery they do or should receive, and structuring suppression motions. Further, it will provide a common sense look at a topic that many attorneys might be curious about and want in their professional networking arsenal.
