Dr. Mark Nuell
Dr. Mark Nuell is a registered patent attorney and is presently of counsel to Ditthavong, Steiner & Mlotkowski, a full-service law firm engaged in obtaining, commercializing and defending intellectual property.
Dr. Nuell has been working in the field of intellectual property since 1991 and is an active member of the California bar and an inactive member of the Virginia bar. Dr. Nuell works principally in the life science and chemical arts.
Dr. Nuell assists clients, including start-up and small companies as well as Fortune 500 companies, in the planning of their intellectual property strategy and in the obtaining of patent rights in their inventions, including management of their patent. His technical specialties span the arts of chemistry and the life sciences including novel chemical compounds and formulations of them, genetic engineering materials and methods, cloned nucleic acids, vectors, vaccines, gene therapy, cell lines, recombinant proteins, and antibodies. In addition, Dr. Nuell works in the fields of materials science, polymer compositions, diagnostic and therapeutic compositions and methods, separation materials and methods, various analytic methods, and petrochemical processes and apparatus.
Dr. Nuell’s practice also includes a variety of transactional, due diligence and opinion work, including patentability, validity and infringement analyses and freedom to operate opinions relating to commercialization of intellectual property.
