Accreditation and CLE Rules for Wisconsin
National Academy of Continuing Legal Education is a sponsor of CLE activities approved by the Supreme Court of Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners. All courses offered by the National Academy of Continuing Legal Education have been directly approved by the Board of Bar Examiners (BBE).
Wisconsin attorneys are required to take 30 credit hours every 2 years including 3 credit hours of Ethics.
Wisconsin attorneys can earn all 30 CLE credit hours with us including 3 credit hours of Ethics using our Online, iOS/Android App, and Live Webinar courses.
The Supreme Court of Wisconsin issued an order increasing the on-demand CLE credit cap through 1/31/23. Attorneys with a 12/31/22 deadline, and attorneys who are working towards reinstatement, readmission, or reactivation may now take up to 30 hours of on-demand programming. However, the legal ethics requirement must be taken via live online programming or in-person courses.
WI attorneys that were admitted to practice in odd-numbered years are must complete their CLE by December 31st of every odd-numbered year. WI attorneys that were admitted to practice in even-numbered years are must complete their CLE by December 31st of every even-numbered year. Notwithstanding these rules, all WI attorneys are given an automatic extension until January 31 to complete their CLE.
