T. Deon Warner, Esq.
T. Deon Warner is a partner with Warner & Associates PLLC, a corporate transactions law firm in Houston, Texas. Deon earned a BA in Economics from the University of Colorado, Boulder Campus, in 1981 and earned a JD from Howard University in 1984. At Howard, he was Assistant Editor of the Howard Law Journal and graduated 19th in his class. Deon served as a law clerk for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas for the Honorable Gabrielle K. McDonald from 1984-86.
His law firm career began in 1986 with Hunton Andrews & Kurth LLP in Houston, Texas, where he was promoted to partner in the corporate and securities group in 1992. Deon was appointed by the Governor of Texas to serve on the Texas State Securities Board in 1991, served for six years and served as chairman of the board from 1995 to 1997. Deon is a member of the Colorado bar and Texas bar.
Deon’s practice is primarily merger and acquisitions, real estate transactions, corporate restructurings, securities law (Blue Sky, FINRA and SEC regulation), crowdfunding, corporate law (both for profit and non for profit) and partnerships and joint ventures.
Deon is a leader in the community, donating time and services to various bar associations, civic groups, CDCs and churches. He is a past board member on the Houston First Corporation Board (appointed by the Mayor of the City of Houston to oversee and manage the City of Houston’s convention center hotels – Hilton Hotel and new Marriott Marquis Hotel – and other city facilities: such as the George R. Brown Convention Center, the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts, The Hobby Center and Jones Hall, and other city owned properties and venues).
Deon currently serves as chairman of the Board and president of Neighborhood Recovery Community Development Corporation, a CDC focused on low income and workforce housing, jobs, and inner-city housing revitalization (moving working families from apartments to home ownership) and also inner city commercial revitalization.
