About This Course
Administering an estate involves a series of legal, financial, and fiduciary responsibilities that require careful planning and attention to detail. This CLE program provides a practical overview of the estate administration process, from the initial probate filing through the final distribution and closing of the estate. Participants will learn how to identify, collect, and safeguard estate assets, navigate probate procedures, prepare accountings, satisfy creditor claims, and complete required tax filings.
The course will also examine the administration of estates under both wills and trusts, address assets that pass inside and outside of probate, discuss fiduciary duties and potential liabilities, and highlight best practices for obtaining releases and successfully concluding the administration process.
