This CLE course will focus on estate planning tools and discuss Last Will and Testament and Trusts. The course will explain succession planning, estate planning and how to plan using wills and trusts, as well as advanced directives such as health care proxies, power of attorney and living wills.

This course will also discuss Medicaid planning and protection of assets as well as tax planning consideration when creating an estate plan.

We also discuss the Uniform Health Care Decisions Act enacted in many states that advocate the inclusion of a decision-making standard that generally follows a three-step hierarchy in decision-making, Finally, we will discuss guardianships/conservatorships and when such a proceeding should be commenced.
