*This course qualifies as a Transitional course and can be taken by both Experienced and Newly Admitted attorneys in NY.

New York City Housing Law litigation is strongly rooted in statutes. Failing to dot and “I” or properly crossing a “T” make prove fatal. In this course, the participant will be given an overview of many parts of housing litigation that is heavily impacted by statutory requirements. This CLE course is especially helpful if you are new to landlord-tenant litigation.

If you are already a veteran the course also discusses the recent changes in housing law as codified in the June 2019 Housing Stability and Tenant Security Protection Act. Included in the presentation are sample predicate notices for nonpayment and holdover proceedings, sample petitions, a diagram depicting the different aspects of landlord tenant litigation/procedure as well as references to case law and statutes that effect landlord-tenant litigation.

Mustapha Ndanusa, Esq.

Mustapha Ndanusa is a founding Partner of Davis Ndanusa Ikhlas & Saleem LLP. Mustapha is a litigation attorney with over ten years of State and Federal litigation experience. Mr. Ndanusa began his career with MFY Legal Services, a not-for-profit organization, where he enhanced his litigation and advocacy skills. Always intent on being a trial attorney, Mr. Ndanusa left MFY after four years of housing law advocacy and began his own private practice. Mr. Ndanusa also has experience with immigration law, employment law, and expertise in certain personal injury matters. Prior to forming DNIS, Mr. Ndanusa worked with Mobilization For Justice, formerly Mobilization For Youth, where, for five years, he exclusively represented tenants in landlord-tenant actions for the Mental Hygiene Law Project. Mr. Ndanusa is a dedicated counselor at law, an avid cyclist, football fan, a family man and most importantly, of a person of easy temperament.

Mustapha Ndanusa received his Juris Doctorate from Yeshiva Univerisity’s Benjamin Cardozo School of Law.
