Description

This CLE course will review the standard business terms that apply to clearing music for various entertainment projects including movies, TV shows, documentaries, ad campaigns, musical theatre, mobile apps and crowd funding platforms. Steve Gordon provides valuable tips on how to save money in using music for any project, and explains why producers of programs for PBS do not have to clear or pay for music. He focuses on standard fees and royalties payable for music for each of these entertainment business projects. He also discusses music sampling, the normal fees that apply and how the fair use doctrine applies to sampling, music in documentaries and other projects.
