Kim Kamin, Esq.
Kim Kamin is a Principal at Gresham Partners, LLC, an independent multi-family office that currently serves about 100 ultra-high net worth families nationally. At Gresham, Kim serves as Chief Wealth Strategist, leading Gresham’s development and implementation of estate, wealth transfer, philanthropic, educational and fiduciary planning activities. Previously she was a partner in the Private Clients, Trusts and Estates Group at Schiff Hardin LLP where for many years her legal practice involved all aspects of trust and estate planning, administration, dispute resolution; advising families and their privately held businesses on a wide array of wealth preservation, asset protection and succession planning issues; and serving as counsel for the formation and operation of not-for-profit entities.
Kim is an adjunct professor at the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law where she was awarded the William M. Trumbull Lectureship, and has taught Advanced Trusts and Estates, Income Taxation of Trusts and Estates, and Estate Planning. She is also on faculty for the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) program through the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Executive Education. She has published on a wide variety of topics and is also a frequent lecturer in a variety of venues across the country (such as Family Office Exchange, ACTEC, Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning, ALI-CLE, Purposeful Planning Institute, Chicago Estate Planning Council, Chicago Bar Association, Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, Notre Dame Tax& Estate Planning Institute, and the Tulane Tax Institute). She was co-executive editor and co-author with Wendy Goffe for the past two editions of the Leimberg Library Tools & Techniques book, Estate Planning for Modern Families (3rd Edition 2019). Kim is a Regent for the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), where she has chaired the New Fellows Steering Committee, co-chaired the Legal Education Committee, and served as founding chair of the Wealth Strategist and Fiduciary Counsel Subcommittee. Kim is President of the Chicago Estate Planning Council. She also serves on the Leaders Council for the UHNW Institute.
Additionally, Kim serves on the Chicago Community Trust Professional Advisory Council, the Art Institute of Chicago Gift Planning Advisory Committee, the Northwestern Memorial Foundation Professional Council for Philanthropy, the Goodman Theatre Spotlight Advisory Council, the Chicago Foundation for Women Professional Advisory Council, and the Executive Committee for the Lurie Children’s Legacy Partners. She also serves on the Chicago Stanford Association’s Board of Leaders. She is a member of The Economic Club of Chicago, where she has served on several committees. Kim received her B.A., with distinction.
Brad Bedingfield
Brad Bedingfield assists private foundations and public charities with navigating complex tax regulations and procedures, including receipt and disposition of complex charitable gifts and participation in innovative forms of impactful philanthropy. He also advises on governance matters, guiding charities and other nonprofits through formation, reorganizations, mergers, affiliations, and dissolutions.
Additionally, Brad advises private clients on securing their long-term goals related to preserving and protecting their wealth and executing their philanthropic endeavors. He counsels families on structured charitable giving, estate planning and lifetime gifting strategies. Brad was recognized as a Notable Practitioner assisting US and international high net worth families with philanthropy and trusts and estates planning in Chamber’s High Net Worth guide. He is also a Fellow and Regent of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
Brad has 20 years of experience in private practice with national firms and also previously worked as a tax law specialist with the Exempt Organizations Division of the IRS in Washington, D.C. Before his legal career, Brad obtained advanced degrees in English language and literature and taught medieval literature at universities in the United Kingdom, Japan, and the United States.
Brad is also a Senior Vice President and Chair of the Audit Committee at Hemenway Trust Company, a New Hampshire based private fiduciary firm.
