Joseph J. Bambara, Esq.
Joseph J. Bambara is currently In House Counsel and a VP of technology architecture at UCNY, Inc. His e-mail address is jbambara@ucny.com. For the last 15 years, he has been acting as Counsel for small to mid-size technology firms in the metro area. Most recently, he has worked on cloud computing, social networking, mobile media and outsourcing contracts. He has done work with intellectual property especially as it pertains to mobile and enterprise software, SMS mobile marketing issues as well as trade/service marks. In addition to presentations at Lawline, he has done CLE’s on law and technology for New York County, the New York City Bar Association and National Constitution Center. Prior entrepreneurial career includes developing applications for the financial, brokerage, manufacturing, medical, and entertainment industries on the mobile and enterprise platforms.
Mr. Bambara has a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Computer Science. He holds a Juris Doctorate in Law and is admitted to the New York State Bar. He has taught various computer courses for CCNY's School of Engineering. He is member of the New York County Lawyers Association Cyberspace Committee and an active member in the International Technology Law Association. He has authored the following books: Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for J2EE Study Guide (Exam 310-051) (McGraw-Hill, 2007), J2EE Unleashed (SAMS 2001), PowerBuilder: A Guide To Developing Client/Server Applications (McGraw-Hill, 1995), Informix: Client/Server Application Development (McGraw-Hill, 1997), Informix: Universal Data Option (McGraw-Hill, 1998), SQL Server Developer's Guide (IDG, 2000). He has taught numerous courses and given many presentations on all aspects of the law and enterprise and mobile development in cities worldwide, including Los Angeles, Vienna, Paris, Berlin, Orlando, Nashville, New York, Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm.
James L. Kapsis
Jim Kapsis VotRite , is Managing Partner- Votrite International LLC. He acts as system integrator of VotRite, based in Mineola, New York. Jim has patented two voting systems fragments that will increase the security, speed, and simplicity of voting to the general public. Mr. Kapsis has a long record of successfully guiding local, national, and multi-national clients to the 21st Century technology of voting and has written numerous articles on voting for the general public .perfected a voting machines that defines user confidence and security. As an inventor of two
patents . (U.S. Patent Application No. 12/043,590 – Voting Apparatus with Secure Ballot Box Assembly (KAPSIS) was approved June 20, 2011). Updated Patent No. 3/274,410 filed on October 17, 2011. He was able to develop a Verified voter Paper Trail for the voting machine. In 2013,he developed the software for the Stand alone voting machine which has been used in many organization, union, colleges throughout the United States. In 2015, Votrite International LLC acquired VotRite from PDSH Ltd. VotRite www.votrite.com with hardware and software
was designed with the user in mind and has been developed in compliance with the specifications of the Help American Vote Act (HAVA) law 107 and the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) VVSG 2005 Standards.
Lance H. Koonce, Esq.
Lance Koonce specializes in intellectual property litigation and counseling for clients in the advertising, publishing, music, television/film, fashion, and consumer products fields, and has extensive experience analyzing the implications of emerging technologies. As a litigator and partner at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, he has 20 years of experience trying complex commercial cases in state and federal court, including jury trials. Lance writes and speaks frequently on IP and technology issues, and is the founder of the CreativeBlockchain.com blog, which
focuses on how blockchain technology intersects with the creative industries. Co- Chair of New York County Lawyers Association Law and Technology Committee. He received a BA from Duke University and a JD from University of North Carolina School of Law.
