Accreditation and CLE Rules for New Hampshire
NHMCLE does not approve CLE activities or accredit providers for the NH Minimum CLE requirement.
New Hampshire attorneys must self-determine whether a program is eligible for credit and self-report their attendance. The National Academy of Continuing Legal Education believes that its courses meet the requirements of NH Supreme Court Rule 53 and qualify towards the annual NHMCLE requirement. The Supreme Court has given NH attorneys until 7/31/2022 as a grace period. Late fees will not be assessed until August 1st.
Attorneys must complete 12 CLE hours / 720 minutes per compliance period, including a minimum of 2 Ethics hours. The Rule 53 compliance due date is *May 31. All 12 CLE hours, including Ethics, may be fulfilled with National Academy of Continuing Legal Education using our DVDs, Audio CDs, Online & iOS/Android App formats.
*On Friday February 26, 2021, the New Hampshire Supreme Court instituted changes to NHSC R53 changing the reporting year to June 1 - May 31 Supreme Court Order.
New lawyers are required to take a program sponsored by the NH Bar Association and the Supreme Court called "Practical Skills" within 2 years of admittance. This program is offered twice a year by the NH Bar Association.
Excess CLE hours may be used to fulfill the requirement of Rule 53 for the reporting year next following, but may not be used to fulfill the requirement in any other reporting year.
