Credits that Nevada Attorneys Can Earn From National Academy:All courses offered by the National Academy of Continuing Legal Education have been directly approved by the Nevada Board of CLE. You can find our approval letter here: NV_Approval.pdf. Audio, Video and Online programs are considered an “alternate format”. Multiple Formats Available Including DVDs, Audio CDs, Online & iOS/Android App! All 13 credits, including ethics and substance abuse, may be earned with National Academy of Continuing Legal Education under the alternate format rule. Effective January 1st 2018, Nevada Attorneys must earn 13 total credits per calendar year which includes 2 hours of ethics and 1 hour of substance abuse. Click here to view the Nevada Supreme Court rule changes. We automatically report your CLE compliance to the NV State CLE Board and pay any applicable fees. Nevada attorneys may carry forward a maximum of 20 general credits, 4 ethics credits, and 2 substance abuse credits that are in excess of the annual requirement. Extra ethics and substance abuse credits may be used to satisfy the general credit requirement. However, extra substance abuse credits cannot be used to satisfy the ethics requirement. *The Nevada Supreme Court issued an order eliminating Supreme Court Rule 214(1)(d), which granted an exemption to attorneys who are 70 years of age and older from meeting mandatory CLE requirements.
