Accreditation and CLE Rules for Nebraska
*In response to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, the Nebraska Supreme Court has determined it necessary to allow all 10 required credits to be obtained without attending live education (regular/traditional class type) for 2022. As attorneys file annual reports for 2022 in December, reports that have no live education will be accepted when they contain at least 10 total credits including 2 that qualify as professional responsibility/ethics. Therefore all NE attorneys can now satisfy their entire requirement with us with our Online & iOS/Android App courses.
National Academy of Continuing Legal Education offers CLE courses accredited in many states throughout the country. While we do not directly accredit our courses in Nebraska, our courses qualify for Nebraska credit approval pursuant to the rules of the Nebraska MCLE Commission. NE attorneys must self-apply for course approval of NACLE courses. Credits may be submitted through the Nebraska MCLE website at https://mcle.wcc.ne.gov/ext/Login.do.
Nebraska attorneys must take 10 credits per CLE cycle including 2 credits of Ethics. NE attorneys may earn up to 5 CLE credit hours from National Academy of Continuing Legal Education, including 2 credit hours of Ethics. Attorneys may complete CLE credits with us using our Online & iOS/Android App formats.
Distance Learning credits taken in excess of five hours may not be carried forward from one cycle to the next.

About This Course
This CLE course provides an overview of the legal aspects of cross-border joint ventures (JVs). It covers the basic “nuts-and-bolts” of JVs, such as purpose, capital contributions, governance and management, veto rights and minority protections, profit distributions, transfer restrictions, exit strategies and dispute resolution, but aims to do so specifically in the cross-border or international context.
That means also addressing cultural and foreign law issues, repatriation of profits, international taxation, and potential corruption and bribery concerns. We will use a few specific examples of actual JVs to illustrate and facilitate our understanding of the foregoing legal problems.
