Accreditation and CLE Rules for Louisiana
National Academy of CLE is a sponsor of CLE courses in Louisiana approved by the Louisiana State Bar Association, Sponsor #7395.
Louisiana attorneys are required to take 12.5 credit hours every year including at least 1 credit in Ethics and 1 credit in Professionalism. The compliance cycle is from January 1st through December 31st.
Louisiana attorneys may earn up to 4 CLE credit hours from National Academy of CLE, including Ethics and Professionalism credits using our Online & iOS/Android App courses. The maximum number of self-study credits allowed per cycle is 4.
The Louisiana Supreme Court has amended Rule XXX of the Rules for Continuing Legal Education, modifying the long-standing age-based exemption for attorneys.
Under the revised rule, attorneys who turn 65 on or after January 1, 2026, will be required to complete five hours of CLE each year, including one hour of ethics and one hour of professionalism, until they reach age 75. All 5 hours may be earned through computer-based programming. Attorneys who attain age 75 will be fully exempt from MCLE requirements.
