About This Course

This CLE program provides attorneys with a practical overview of the rules and processes that govern Federal contract performance after an agreement has been finalized. Once performance begins—whether supplying goods or providing services—parties often discover that the original specifications require adjustment. Such changes can trigger disputes between the contracting parties or objections from third parties claiming the modifications violate the original solicitation.

The course will explore how these disputes are handled, including the government’s authority to terminate contracts for convenience (and the contractor’s potential right to recover certain costs), as well as terminations for default, which can carry serious consequences for contractors. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how Federal contract disputes arise, the legal framework that governs them, and the mechanisms available for resolution.
