About This Course

In the first six months of this year, nearly 5,000 lawsuits were filed under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in federal court alleging inaccessibility at businesses that are open to the general public. Over a thousand of those lawsuits were filed in New York. This CLE program will feature a panel discussion as speakers discuss the reasons for the increase in this type of litigation and how businesses can minimize the risk of being sued. The panel will discuss website and “brick and mortar” accessibility issues, barrier identification and removal, and how best to handle an ADA lawsuit that alleges website or facility inaccessibility.
