About This Course
This CLE program provides an in-depth review of the most significant ethics opinions issued over the past year by the ABA and various state bar authorities. The session will not only outline the governing rules but also explore their practical impact on day-to-day legal practice.
The program will then examine several notable ethics challenges that surfaced during the year, including the pressures placed on attorneys by external forces such as political efforts that tested the independence of the rule of law in the United States. Attendees will also gain insight into emerging conflicts driven by the rise in law-firm mergers and the increasing movement of lawyers between firms.
In addition, the presentation will address ethical considerations that arise when lawyers transition from regulatory roles to private practice within the same industry. The session will conclude with a forward-looking discussion of upcoming challenges involving artificial intelligence and the growing trend of law firms combining with accounting and financial services entities.
