About This Course
The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence tools across the legal profession presents significant ethical, professional, and risk-management considerations for attorneys. This CLE program examines the duties imposed on lawyers by rules of professional conduct, court orders, and emerging judicial guidance relating to the use of AI tools in legal practice, including issues of competence, supervision, confidentiality, client disclosure, and candor to the tribunal.
The course also addresses how courts and tribunals are beginning to deploy AI tools in adjudicative and administrative functions, and the implications for litigation strategy and advocacy. In addition, participants will gain a practical framework for advising clients who use or are considering AI tools, with particular attention to legal risks, regulatory exposure, data governance, and potential benefits. Attorneys will leave with a working understanding of how to responsibly evaluate, use, and counsel on AI tools in compliance with ethical and professional obligations.
