About This Course
Any lawyer who examines witnesses at deposition, hearing, or at trial needs to know how to ask properly phrased questions that can withstand objections as to form. Judge Greenberg brings a wealth of both classroom and courtroom experience to teaching these fundamental skills. In this CLE course, attorneys will learn the rules of evidence that govern the most common and important issues of form. These issues include: leading questions and exceptions to the rule against leading; vague, confusing, and compound questions; the objection “asked and answered”; argumentative questions; and non-responsive answers.
This CLE course is designed chiefly for newer lawyers, but it will also be useful as a refresher for more experienced litigators. Transcripts and sample questions and answers are used to teach the rules in a practical and memorable way.
