Augusta Massey, Esq.
Augusta Massey is a consummate entrepreneur and the Managing Partner of Massey & Associates Law Firm, PLLC, located in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. Ms. Massey practices in the firm’s business litigation and bankruptcy department, among other areas. Ms. Massey is passionate about assisting individuals and businesses in achieving a fresh start through the protections afforded under the Bankruptcy Code.
Ms. Massey received her B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from The University of Memphis and her Juris Doctor from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where she was awarded several scholarships including the Nelson Mandela Law Scholarship, Kathryn Hookanson Law Scholarship, and the Constangy, Brooks & Smith Diversity Law Scholarship for the State of Tennessee.
Ms. Massey was also a member of the Tennessee Journal of Practice and Procedure, was an associate member of the Moot Court Board, one of only nine members of the prestigious American Inns of Court – Law Student Division, and Champion of the Freshman Moot Court Competition. Ms. Massey received a Best Legal Memorandum Award and three CALI Awards for Excellence in Trial Advocacy, Cyber Law and International Business Transactions. Ms. Massey also had a judicial externship in the Western District of Tennessee, Bankruptcy Court.
After law school, Ms. Massey started a scholarship foundation, which awards a book scholarship to deserving law students every Fall Semester at the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law since 2008. Currently, Ms. Massey is the President of the Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association, and actively involved with the State Bar of Nevada, where she serves on the Diversity Committee and Fee Dispute Committee as an arbitrator and mediator. She has also served as a mentor and/or employer with the Summer Business Institute since 2012 and a TIP Mentor with the State Bar of Nevada for newly admitted lawyers.
Ms. Massey is also a Judge Pro Tempore, Small Claims Court, located in Clark County, Nevada, and the author of three non-fiction books and two self-study courses. She was recently honored as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Las Vegas (for three consecutive years), a Top 40 under 40 by Vegas, Inc. and the 2019 recipient of the Las Vegas Urban Chamber of Commerce’s “Women in Business & Politics” Award. Ms. Massey also gives talks to the youth and entrepreneurial communities about self-actualization and overcoming adversity. When she’s not working or volunteering, Ms. Massey loves to dance, travel and spend time with her family.
