About This Course
This CLE course will focus on preparing for a civil trial, in order to maximize your chances of winning. We will start by "mapping out" a trial strategy. The "mapping out" or "roadmap" will include how to prove your case, as well as to anticipate, and be ready to rebut, any effective counter-actions of the opposing side. The preparation will include deciding upon and organizing your physical evidence, as well as the witnesses who will help you get your proof into evidence, and otherwise help you to establish your case.
Appropriate pre-trial motions , especially motions in limine, will be considered, including how such motions can better position you for a successful trial. We will show how to anticipate evidentiary issues, and how to best prepare to handle those issues, during the course of the trial. Among other things, we will give you advice on making the most effective opening and closing statements.
