Adopting a child takes tremendous persistence, fortitude and above all, patience. The area is rife with complications and the emotional elements of both adoptive and birth parents can create what may seem like insurmountable obstacles. This CLE course, geared to general practitioners, offers an overview of New York adoption law. Presented by Rachel Paras, Esq. who specializes in and teaches adoption law, this course will explore the specific legal definition of adoption, the various types of adoption and their procedures, identifying prospective adoptive children and their parents and the responsibilities and obligation of the parties.
