Accreditation and CLE Rules for Missouri
Missouri attorneys may earn 6 general self-study credit hours through the National Academy of CLE. Attorneys may use our Online or Audio CD formats. Credits cannot be carried over from one cycle to the next cycle. Attorneys must self-report completion of CLE.
An attorney can not fulfill the ethics/specialty requirements with a self-study program. Newly-admitted and readmitted licensees are not required to satisfy the 15-hour CLE requirement during the reporting period in which they were licensed.
Under Rule 15, up to 6 of the required 15 hours may be satisfied through self-study. Self-study may not be reported to satisfy the ethics requirements of Rule 15, unless special authorization has been granted to a lawyer due to a hardship such as a physical disability that makes attendance at programs unreasonably difficult. Also, self-study is excluded from the determination of carryover credit. The Missouri Bar does not review or approve the specific materials that Missouri lawyers may report for self-study credit. Each Missouri lawyer may select the legal materials that enhance his or her professional competence.
