Lecturer Bios

Mark J. McCarthy, Esq.

Mark J. McCarthy is a member of the law firm of Harris Beach PLLC in its Albany, New York, office. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Albany Law School of Union University. Mr. McCarthy’s litigation practice involves many areas of civil litigation, including business and commercial litigation, insurance litigation, construction and surety law, real estate and labor litigation. He has significant trial and appellate experience in New York state and federal court systems, as well as administrative courts. In addition to his primary practices, Mr. McCarthy has also served as trial counsel on numerous environmental claims representing both plaintiffs and defendants in matters ranging from claims arising under CERCLA and RCRA, and oil spill litigation arising under the Navigation Law of the State of New York. He has also served as an adjunct professor at the Albany Law School of Union University. Mr. McCarthy is a member of the New York State and Albany County Bar Associations.

Peter J. Moschetti Jr.

Peter J. Moschetti Jr. is a member of the firm Anderson, Moschetti & Taffany, PLLC, whose office is located in Latham, New York. He has practiced in the field of personal injury, representing plaintiffs in products liability, medical malpractice, labor law and general liability cases. Mr. Moschetti has statewide trial and appellate experience in New York federal and state courts, and has been a frequent lecturer over the last 16 years for the New York State Bar Association and other organizations pertaining to all aspects of civil and criminal litigation. Mr. Moschetti is a graduate of Albany Law School and Union University. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the New York Trial Lawyers Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

John T. Wilkins, Esq.

John T. Wilkins is a member with the law firm of Wilkins & Griffin, PLLC, in Lake Placid, New York. His practice areas primarily involve trial and appellate practice, concentrating on personal injury, environmental law, Adirondack Park Agency law, divorce, family law and criminal defense. Mr. Wilkins is admitted to practice in New York and all the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, Northern and Western Districts of New York. He graduated from the Albany Law School of Union University, receiving a J.D. degree, cum laude, where he was a member of the law review. Mr. Wilkins is a member of the Essex County and New York State Bar Associations. He was formerly associated with Rogers & Wells in New York city, where he was a member of the litigation department, and he has served as a special assistant district attorney in Essex County, New York.

Brian H. Breedlove, Esq.

Brian H. Breedlove is a member of the law firm of Pennock, Breedlove & Noll, LLP, in Clifton Park, New York. He graduated with a B.S. degree in criminal science from Russell Sage College and a J.D. degree from Western New England College School of Law. He was admitted to the Nevada bar in 1978 and the New York state bar in 1984. He has also been admitted before the U.S. District Courts in the Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the U.S. Courts of Appeals in both the 2nd and 9th Circuits. He has been involved in civil and criminal trial practice in both state and federal courts with an emphasis on negligence, police misconduct, civil rights, employment discrimination and sexual harassment cases on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. Mr. Breedlove has been appointed by the Supreme Court as a special prosecutor in both Hamilton County and Fulton County, New York. He is a member of the Saratoga County and the New York State Bar Associations (Insurance, Trial Lawyer’s and Criminal Justice Sections); the Capital District Trial Lawyers’ Association; the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), an association interested in the plaintiff’s position in employment litigation; the Saratoga County Bar Association board of directors; the Federal Practice Committee for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York; a delegate to the New York State Bar from Saratoga County; and the American Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Breedlove has lectured many times on accident reconstruction, seat belt issues, evidence, cross examination and employment discrimination.

Jeffrey K. Anderson, Esq.

Jeffrey K. Anderson is a partner in the law firm of Anderson, Moschetti & Taffany, PLLC. He received his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Colgate University and his J.D. degree from Albany Law School of Union University. For the past 25 years, Mr. Anderson has represented clients in personal injury and wrongful death cases arising from automobile accidents, defective products, medical negligence, construction site accidents and unsafe premises. He has focused on the litigation and trial of complex products liability claims, involving a wide range of consumer, commercial and industrial products, including automobile restraint systems, recreational vehicles, swimming pools, printing presses, power equipment and other products capable of causing injury or death when defectively designed or manufactured. He has obtained numerous multimillion dollar settlements and verdicts on behalf of his clients. In 2001, the New York Law Journal reported a verdict of $4.8 million in a case tried by Mr. Anderson as being the highest products liability verdict in upstate New York in the year 2000. He has also served as an arbitrator and mediator in a number of personal injury cases. Mr. Anderson serves as an arbitrator for the Albany County Arbitration Program and on the Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution of the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Anderson is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in New York and is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the New York State Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the Albany County Bar Association, the Rensselaer County Bar Association and the Saratoga County Bar Association, and served as president of the Capital District Trial Lawyers Association from 1998 to 1999. He has lectured on products liability law at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, at the annual Decisions Programs for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, for the American Society of Safety Engineers, the Capital District Trial Lawyers Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and for programs on child restraint for the Capital Region Safekids Coalition and the Albany County Traffic Safety Awareness Committee. He regularly lectures at seminars on personal injury, products liability, medical malpractice, workplace injuries and trial practice. Mr. Anderson recently authored a chapter on New York products liability law that will appear in a New York State Bar Association treatise on personal injury actions in New York.
