Hank J. Sanders III
Hank Sanders began his career in financial services as a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith in 1986. On Monday, October 19, 1987, Hank watched as the Dow dropped by over 22%, wiping out over $500 billion in value in a single day. Black Monday reset the entire industry's perspective of investment risk and had a tremendous impact on Hank's approach to serving his clients. Hank began to redefine his business, taking a holistic approach in designing comprehensive financial plans, investment solutions and strategies based on the client's prioritized goals for the one life they get to live, while targeting the least amount of risk necessary.
In the late 90's, Hank also observed a significant education gap in the industry. It had largely failed to train financial advisors in real estate and housing wealth strategies in the planning process to optimize client outcomes. Subsequently, over the years, Hank built a practice with a commitment to put the clients' best interest first and honor his fiduciary responsibility that included guidance around their housing wealth. When he was approached by American Advisors Group to join the team that will be sharing this message and educating industry professionals on the integration of housing wealth strategies into comprehensive planning for the mass affluent retiree, Hank knew he could make a far greater impact on the industry and potentially thousands of lives. Today, as a Strategic Business Specialist for AAG, Hank specializes in educating, supporting, and developing relationships with financial advisors.
Hank has held multiple Securities and Insurance licenses including the 7, 63 and 65. He is a Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist designee. He has extensive advanced planning and investment strategy training and has long history of teaching financial educational classes. Throughout his career, Hank has been involved in local Financial Planning Chapters and multiple State Banking Associations.
