This course will present an overview of mediation theory and practice. It is best suited for an attorney who wishes to learn more about the mediation process so that he may be able to advise his clients about such an alternative. It is also appropriate for attorneys contemplating beginning a mediation practice. The lecture will cover such areas as mediation "Do's and Don’ts", the initial interview and substantive areas which may be effectively mediated. This lecture will give the attorney who is not familiar with Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) another model to consider when handling a matrimonial matter.
