Frank F. Martinez maintains a solo employment law practice in New York City, the Law Offices of Frank F. Martinez LLC, representing individuals and management. He has represented numerous major corporations in employment-related litigation and mediation in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies. He has extensive experience counseling and training clients in a broad range of employment law matters including discrimination, harassment, disability, contracts, severance, reductions in force, handbooks, employee relations, wage issues and unfair competition.
Mr. Martinez began law practice in San Francisco at Littler Mendelson. He also practiced employment law at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati in Silicon Valley and, in New York at Proskauer Rose. After leaving firm practice, Mr. Martinez served as Vice President, Legal & Business Affairs at BMG Music. He has also recently served as interim Of Counsel, Human Resources Legal, for Pitney Bowes in Stamford, Connecticut and interim Associate General Counsel for L’Oréal USA.
Mr. Martinez graduated from Boston University School of Law in 1995 and also holds degrees in music from Indiana University, Bloomington and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He recently served on the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights and Labor and Employment Committees of New York City Bar Association. Joseph H. Harris, Esq.
Joseph Harris is a management-side labor and employment attorney located in New York City. Mr. Harris helps businesses comply with New York’s intricate employment laws and counsels them on how to proactively reduce their risk of lawsuits and state actions. When problems arise, Mr. Harris, who was trained as an employment litigator at one of New York's oldest law firms, is prepared to vigorously defend his clients' interests in state and federal court and before government agencies.
Mr. Harris began his own practice after gaining experience at two New York law firms, where he assisted in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and New York state cases. At Milberg Weiss, Mr. Harris assisted in litigating securities class action lawsuits on behalf of defrauded investors. One noteworthy case he worked on was the Tyco International Ltd. Securities Litigation, which settled for $3.2 billion, at the time one of the largest settlements in U.S. legal history. Mr. Harris then joined the Litigation Department of Moses & Singer. There, he assisted in litigating business and employment cases involving breach of contract, wrongful termination, wage disputes, and intellectual property infringement on behalf of a variety of corporations ranging from small businesses to international manufacturers and banks.
Mr. Harris is an alumnus of Oxford University and a graduate of Haverford College and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the state of New York and, in the federal courts, in the Southern and Eastern districts of New York. He is a member of the New York City Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers' Association, and the New York State Bar Association. He is also a member of the City Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Committee.
