Lecturer Bios

Edward S. Haddad, Esq.

Edward S. Haddad, Esq., is with the Law Office of Edward S. Haddad. His practice areas include residential and commercial real estate transactions, estate planning and title insurance. Mr. Haddad’s offices represent numerous lenders and relocation providers throughout the state. He is an agent for Fidelity and Stewart Title Insurance Companies and is defense counsel to Fidelity. Mr. Haddad received a B.S. degree from Le Moyne College and a J.D. degree from Albany Law School of Union University, where he was an editor of the Albany Law Review. He was admitted to practice in 1975. Mr. Haddad has taught qualifying courses for real estate salespeople and brokers, and has presented numerous CLE programs on real estate and title insurance issues.

Candice M. Panichi, Esq.

Candice M. Panichi, Esq., is an attorney with Bartle, McGrane, Duffy & Jones, LLP, where she drafts and reviews real estate contracts; writes and examines title insurance policies; represents purchasers, sellers, title insurance companies and lenders in real estate transactions; and reviews insurance binders for compliance with lender regulations. Previously, Ms. Panichi was an associate with Cannon Heyman & Weiss, LLP, where she prepared corporate documents and represented companies in acquisition and development of newly constructed and/or rehabilitated low-income housing projects, reviewed title and surveys, drafted sales tax exemption applications in connection with not-for-profit corporations and affordable housing, and researched tax credit and real property issues as necessary. She was also with Piedmont Law Firm; Harris Beach, LLP; and McGinn, Smith & Co., Inc. Ms. Panichi is a law guardian and court administrator, an active member of the New York State Bar Association, and a foreclosure referee for Albany and Rensselaer counties. She received a B.A. degree in political science from Siena College and a J.D. degree from Albany Law School of Union University.

Stephanie M. Whidden, Esq.

Stephanie M. Whidden, Esq., is with the Law Office of Stephanie M. Whidden, where her practice areas include real estate transactions, estate planning and administration, commercial litigation and appellate practice; arbitration for NASD and NCDS; mediation for Northern District Federal Court System; and examiner of guardianships pending in Ulster County pursuant to Mental Hygiene Law Article 81. She was previously with Howard C. St. John & Associates, where she focused on commercial litigation and real estate. Ms. Whidden received an A.B. degree, cum laude, from the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she was a member of the University of San Francisco Law Review and the McAuliffe Honor Society. Ms. Whidden is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court; the New York state federal and bankruptcy bar associations; and the California state, federal and bankruptcy bar associations.
