Lecturer Bios
Robert G. Brightman, Esq.
Robert G. Brightman is of counsel in the Workers’ Compensation Practice Group of Zimmerman, Kiser & Sutcliffe, P.A. He focuses on representing employers and workers’ compensation insurance carriers in workers’ compensation litigation statewide. Mr. Brightman has been a speaker at the annual Florida Workers’ Compensation Convention and has been a frequent speaker to employer and carrier groups. He is also a private mediator in the area of workers’ compensation. Mr. Brightman received a B.S. degree in biology from the State University of New York, Oneonta, and was certified in secondary education. He graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and was a member of the University of Florida Law Review. Mr. Brightman’s most recent publication was in the Florida Workers’ Compensation Newsletter, spring 2006, "Attendant Care Revisited."
Alfred J. Hilado, Esq.
Alfred J. Hilado is an attorney with Wieland, Hilado, & DeLattre, P.A. In 1996 he joined Mr. Wieland and represent only injured workers and their families. Since that time, Mr. Hilado has made a significant impact in expanding benefits for injured workers by winning cases before the Supreme Court of Florida. He is an experienced attorney who has earned board certification by The Florida Bar in the area of workers’ compensation. Mr. Hilado focuses on workers’ compensation cases as well as Social Security disability claims. He is a member of The Florida Bar, the Orange County Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers and the Florida Workers’ Advocates. Mr. Hilado did his undergraduate studies at Emory University in Atlanta and received his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
Margaret E. Sojourner, Esq.
Margaret E. Sojourner is a partner with Langston, Hess, Shepard & Augustine, P.A. She is a Florida Bar board certified workers’ compensation attorney. Ms. Sojourner is admitted to practice in Florida, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She is a member of the Appellate Section of the Orange County Bar Association and the Workers’ Compensation Section of The Florida Bar. Ms. Sojourner earned her B.A. degree, with honors, from the University of Florida and her J.D. degree from Stetson University College of Law.
Alfred Truesdell, Esq.
Alfred Truesdell is an attorney in Zimmerman, Kiser & Sutcliffe, P.A.’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. As a Florida lawyer, Mr. Truesdell represents employers in labor and employment law matters. His practice involves preventive counseling as well as litigating disputes before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Mr. Truesdell is a member of the Labor and Employment, and Appellate Law Sections of The Florida Bar. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association Labor and Employment Committee. Mr. Truesdell serves as the legislative liaison for the Volusia/Flagler Society for Human Resource Management and is a member of the National Society of Human Resource Management. Mr. Truesdell has presented seminars and written materials on numerous employment topics and has published articles in various legal journals and newspapers. He received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida and graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Bonnie Windsor
Bonnie Windsor is a registered nurse and owner of PRO MED. She got her start in the insurance industry as an adjuster with Nationwide Insurance. Pro Med is focused on assisting customers through programs developed to comply with statutory obligations.
