The recent economic downturn has resulted in almost 10,000 foreclosures of residential properties every single day in the United States. With an unemployment rate rising, it is likely that even more families will face the prospects of losing their homes and more and more financial institutions that financed these homes will face potential ruin. These depressing economic statistics have created a boom in institutions and individuals seeking legal advice to assist them in the foreclosure process, either by effectuating the foreclosure in a quick and efficient manner, or by staving off foreclosure by legally responsible means. This course will address the role of the attorney in the foreclosure process, from the point of view of assisting both the lender and the borrower.
